  1. West’s SQ is brilliant, you ought to hear the wonderful sound effect on the last track – Rising! I regard Thrill Jockey as one of the better record labels from the US but the SQ of Wooden Shijps’ records has dropped – 2013 Back To Land and dropped further – 2018 V.! I really hope they pick up the game…

    Sonic Boom’s spacious mastering really lifted the sound quality here and Paul Gold’s lacquer cutting has never sounded so thrilling — perhaps he is quite a good mastering engineer but it’s a shame that his good works are often buried under subpar pressing. Seek out Yeasayer’s 2010 Odd Blood EU release on Mute, The Suffers’ 2012 self-released debut and Beach House’s 2017 Depression Cherry UK release on Bella Union to hear how good he actually was.
