It is a shame that the mastering of The Tallest Man On Earth’s debut album — The Wild Hunt is somewhat compressed, otherwise it would be an immensely enjoyable record as it is one of the quietest pressings amongst all of my Dead Oceans, Secretly Canadian and Jagjaguwar records! The guitars sounded brickwalled and missing the wonderful resonances. The rest of the instruments also sounded dry. However, it doesn’t sound too closed…

    Probably due to both ends rolled off, Kristian Matsson’s unique voice is also quite tolerable here as it could be extremely grating on CDs or mp3.
