  1. When I was getting this Primal Scream’s quintessential album — Screamadelica, I was faced with a dilemma: Should I get the 2011 Music On Vinyl reissue which has the Kevin Shield’s remaster with Bobby Gillespie’s involvement in the whole mastering process, or this 2015 Sony Music reissue, a repress of the original UK release on Creation Records — plated by Maxwell Anandappa (*See note)?

I am glad that I went with this Sony Music reissue, after being disappointed by the 2011 Music On Vinyl reissue of XTRMNTR and Evil Heat. The SQ is superb, the mastering is dynamic with very spacious sound, tight and focused bass. But perhaps just a tad too digital sounding to be absolutely perfect…

Note: Maxwell Anandappa was credited as “plated by” on the original UK release. Here I am using “lacquer cut by” – I understand that they are different but it’s a painful task for me to create another taxonomy term “plated by”.
