  1. I couldn’t decide which release to get for The Cranberries’ debut album reissue — this Analog Spark remastered buy Sean Magee and pressed by QRP or the Miles Showell half-speed remaster GZ Media pressing?

At the end I got both just to find out which sounds better. Verdict?

I can’t really tell as they are equally well done. You won’t be disappointed but there are of course some differences albeit small — the vocals on Miles Showell’s half-speed remastered is a little clearer and a little more forward. The instruments on this Sean Magee’s remastered sound more relax and a little more extended especially on the drums, lower and sub-bass, hence more natural to my ears.

If I have to pick one only I think the Analog Spark version as I found the pressing is just slightly better but the GZ Media is no slouch either. It’s indeed a very close call.
